Moving from a Gurgaon society: lift, gate pass and parking checklist
A well-packed household can still lose hours if the truck cannot enter the society or the service lift is unavailable. Gurgaon apartment and high-rise moves need building access to be treated as part of the moving plan, not as an afterthought.
Confirm the society rules early
Ask the RWA, facility desk, maintenance office or security team about mover entry. Some societies require a resident request, vehicle number, ID details, refundable security deposit or a specific moving slot. Rules vary by property, so never assume the same process applies across Gurgaon.
Book the service lift
Where a service lift is available, reserve it for both pickup and delivery. Confirm the time window and whether the lift has size or load restrictions. If the society uses a digital booking system, keep a screenshot or confirmation available on moving day.
Plan truck parking
Truck size matters. A large vehicle may not be able to reach an internal basement or narrow driveway. Ask where the truck can legally stop and whether a smaller vehicle or manual trolley movement will be required. The extra distance between the truck and tower entrance can affect labour time.
Protect common areas
Check whether the society requires lift padding, floor protection or protective sheets in corridors. Confirm who supplies these. The objective is simple: protect the property and avoid avoidable disputes with security or facility management.
High-rise timing needs discipline
If your move is booked for a two-hour window, do not treat the entire morning as unlimited loading time. Have the home ready before the crew arrives. Keep unwanted items already separated, secure valuables and make sure access is open.
Builder floors and independent houses are different
Not every Gurgaon move happens in a high-rise. Builder floors and independent homes can have narrow staircases, limited road-side parking and manual loading. A survey or detailed phone discussion should identify these conditions before the quotation is finalised.
What to send the mover
- Exact pickup address and tower/floor
- Society gate timing
- Service-lift timing
- Truck entry rules
- Parking instructions
- Security contact/process
- Destination access details

If the society refuses truck entry
Do not wait until the crew is at the gate. Ask the facility desk what vehicle dimensions are permitted and whether goods have to be shifted from an external parking point. If the truck has to stop farther away, the moving plan should account for the additional carrying distance and time.
The same issue can occur at the destination. Sharing a photo of the entrance or basement approach during the quotation stage can help the mover understand the access conditions.
